FRISCO, Texas (May 7, 2021) - The Frisco RoughRiders fell for the first time in the 2021 season, losing 6-5 to the Midland RockHounds on Friday night from Riders Field.

The RockHounds (1-3) jumped out in front early with a two-run home run from Jonah Bride in the first off of Frisco (3-1) starter Cole Winn.

The 2-0 advantage did not last for long, though, as the Riders rallied to take the lead with an RBI single from Matt Whatley in the second and RBI hits by Sherten Apostel and Ryan Dorow in the third, putting Frisco out in front 3-2.

Midland then volleyed back in the fourth with two runs of their own. Kyle McCann ripped an RBI double to tie the game at 3-3 and Mickey McDonald had an RBI single to give the RockHounds the lead.

In the fifth, an RBI double from Dorow tied the game back up and the Riders took the lead when Jax Biggers worked a bases-loaded walk, making the score 5-4.

After the RockHounds tied the game in the eighth on a Jeremy Eierman RBI double, pinch hitter Tyler Ramirez knocked in McDonald with a sacrifice fly to put Midland ahead for good, 6-5.

Frisco's Cole Uvila (0-1) took the loss, while Zack Erwin (1-1) earned the win and Zach Jackson locked down his first save of the season for Midland.
