Corny Dogs, Jose Trevino bobblehead and Girl Power Night part of final week

FRISCO, Texas (August 24, 2018) - The Frisco RoughRiders have saved the best for last with a plethora of exciting nights and giveaways during the season's final homestand Saturday, August 25-Friday, August 31 at Dr Pepper Ballpark.

 

It all gets started on Saturday with State Fair Night, as the Riders transform into the "Frisco Corny Dogs" for the game against Midland. The team will wear special Corny Dogs jerseys and hats, and the jerseys will be auctioned to support the State Fair of Texas Youth Livestock Auction Scholarship Program. It's all part of an evening dedicated to celebrating the upcoming State Fair of Texas, which runs September 28-October 21. There will be a carnival ride in the park and an inflatable midway game. And, of course, Fletcher's Corny Dogs will be on hand, offering $1 off all corny dogs for the night.

 

In addition to the excitement around the Corny Dogs and State Fair Night, Saturday's game also features a visit from former Yankees star Bernie Williams, who will be at Dr Pepper Ballpark alongside Boehringer Ingelheim and the Breathless campaign to raise awareness of for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Williams will throw out a first pitch, perform the National Anthem and partake in a VIP meet & greet during the game. Saturday is just the beginning of a great week at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Sunday, the Riders host Girl Power Night to help celebrate and empower women and girls throughout our community and around the world. As part of the evening, there will a female PA announcer, bat girls and the team will show special videos highlighting impactful women in sports. Plus, cheer on 3 female first responders who will participate in on-field activities during the game for their chance to win money to donate to a foundation of their choice courtesy of 9-1-1 on FOX. Earlier that day, the Riders will host a special Girl Power Baseball Clinic at Dr Pepper Ballpark.

 

Thursday, the Riders host the final Deep Ellum Brewing Party @ The Yard. For just $10, fans 21 and older get access to the BIGGEST party in North Texas, which includes $1 beers, a vast selection of food trucks, tailgate games, non-stop music and a great social scene.

 

To close everything out Friday, the Riders are hosting Fan Appreciation Night to honor the best fans in the Texas League. The first 1,500 through the gates that night get a Jose Trevino Double Golden Glove bobblehead. The evening concludes with the season's final postgame fireworks show.

Saturday, August 25 vs. Midland (Athletics), 7:05 p.m.
* State Fair Night, featuring the "Frisco Corny Dogs": The Riders celebrate everything great about the State Fair of Texas by transforming into the "Frisco Corny Dogs" for the night.

* Corny Dogs jersey auction: Use the Dash app to bid on game-worn jerseys, with proceeds benefitting the State Fair of Texas Youth Livestock Auction Scholarship Program.

* Saturday Post-Game Party: Head to the Bull Moose Saloon for half-price drinks starting in the ninth inning and live music once the game is over.

* Kids Run The Bases: Youngsters are off to the races with a chance to run the bases after the game.

 

Sunday, August 26 vs. Midland (Athletics), 7:05 p.m.

* Girl Power Night: The Riders celebrate all the great accomplishments of women in our community and beyond. The evening includes a female PA announcer, plus bat girls instead of bat boys, among other tributes to the great women around us.

* Kids Sunday Funday: Kids and their families can participate in a free pregame catch on the field from 6:00-6:30 and enjoy $1 ice cream sandwiches from Mayfield Creamery all game long.

* Postgame fireworks, presented by J Paul Roofing: Head down to the field after the game to watch a dazzling fireworks show.

 

Monday, August 27 vs. Midland (Athletics), 7:05 p.m.

* Kids Eat Free Monday: Kids 12 & under will receive a voucher for a free hot dog, chips, and Dr Pepper product or water.

* 15th Anniversary Community Spotlight partner: American Heart Association

* Kids Run The Bases: Youngsters can showcase their speed with a free postgame lap around the bags.

 

Tuesday, August 28 vs. Corpus Christi (Astros), 7:05 p.m.

* Taco Tuesday: Enjoy $2 tacos all night long, select $2 beers from 6-8 p.m. and half-price margaritas from 6-8 p.m.

* 15th Anniversary Community Spotlight partner: Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County

* Kids Run The Bases: Youngsters can showcase their speed with a free postgame lap around the bags.

 

Wednesday, August 29 vs. Corpus Christi (Astros), 7:05 p.m.

* Weiner Wednesday, presented by Texas Chili Company: Hot dogs are just $1 all night

* Kids Run The Bases: Kids get to take a jog around the bases once the game is over.

 

Thursday, August 30 vs. Corpus Christi (Astros), 7:05 p.m.
