A dozen firework shows, three vacation raffles, and several new pop-culture-inspired nights highlight the team's 21st season in West Tennessee's hub city.

Wakanda! Wands! White Walkers! Big-screen themes add appeal


Under the direction of GM Nick Hall and Promotions Manager Robbie Perry, the Generals staff will debut a bevy of winning ideas that will help heighten the fan experience at The Ballpark at Jackson. The latest additions to the 2018 slate include nights paying tribute to Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and some of the best-known game shows in TV history!  
On four different occasions-Star Wars Night, Superhero Night, Jurassic Park Night, and Shark Week Night---the Generals will wear exclusive one-night-only uniforms to celebrate iconic media franchises. Jersey designs will be released shortly ahead of the game during which they'll be worn, and each one will be auctioned off towards a charitable cause.  
The full rundown of 2018 Theme Nights at The Ballpark at Jackson: 
Game Show Night (April 21): Ding ding ding! Trivia lovers and obstacle course navigators can rejoice over the introduction of Game Show Night at The Ballpark in 2018. The first 1,000 fans to arrive will receive Generals t-shirts, and competition-minded audience members can look forward to an evening riddled with familiar game show bits, music, and more! 
Star Wars Night (May 5), a perennial fan-favorite, will return this season. The first 1,000 fans to arrive will receive retro-style Generals hats, courtesy of The Bank of Jackson. Spectators will also be eligible to enter a contest to win a vacation to Hollywood Studios! 
Game of Thrones (May 12): With a nod to HBO's popular medieval fantasy series, the Generals will indulge in a number of fun allusions while honoring 2017 Southern League MVP Kevin Cron. A bobblehead of the Generals' former slugger sitting on his very own "Iron Throne" will be bestowed upon the first 1,000 fans in attendance. The hitter is coming! 
Superhero Night (May 26): The Generals will return to celebrating classic comic book heroes and heroines just ahead of Memorial Day. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive Generals t-shirts as they arrive.  
Sarge's Carnival (June 22/23): Back and better than ever! The Generals' bulldog mascot will have a birthday blowout weekend, complete with carnival rides brought to fans by Leaders Credit Union. For the first 1,000 fans arriving on June 23, a limited edition "Talkin' Sarge" doll will be given away in honor of the cuddly canine's celebration. (Bear in mind that Sarge cannot actually talk--he's too busy being your pal!) 
Harry Potter Night (July 7): Accio fans! Muggles and wizards alike are invited to join the Generals for an evening of spell-casting, potion-drinking, and broom-riding shenanigans at The Hogwarts School of-oops, we mean The Ballpark! The first brave 1,000 fans who arrive will receive a baseball edition of the famed Golden Snitch. 
Jurassic Park Night (July 14): Dino-Nite! Thanks to Lane College, a new breed will join Jackson's growing rack of custom jerseys in 2018, as Jurassic Park-themed uniforms will dominate the field at The Ballpark. In addition to pre-historic on-field apparel, themed lunch pails will be given to the first 500 fans age 12 and younger, while beer mugs will go to the first 500 fans who are age 21 and older. As an added bonus, a Universal Studios vacation will be on the line as the grand prize for fans in attendance that evening! 
Disney Night (August 4): Magical memories stand to be made! Join the Generals at The Ballpark for Disney Night, which will include a Disney vacation giveaway for one lucky family. Disney movie references, sights, and sounds will be a part of the in-game entertainment throughout the evening, and Disney character costumes are encouraged! 
Shark Week Night (August 18): The Generals will try to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat while wearing fin-tastic jerseys to appreciate Shark Week! The 1,000 fans who dare enter The Ballpark first will be rewarded with Generals t-shirts. 
SEC Night (September 1): Kick off the football season by spending the last Saturday of baseball season with the Generals! Wear your favorite college football team's jersey with pride, and enter to win tickets to 2018 SEC football contests, courtesy of WBBJ! 

Weekly Specials: Food Truck Fridays, Hub City Hippos return; Thursdays revamped


Building on their recent success, the Generals are bringing back "Food Truck Fridays" in 2018! Thanks to Leaders Credit Union, Generals fans will get to choose from an expanded menu on Friday nights, as a variety of mobile cuisine operators from around the region will serve fans from the Fun Zone. Friday nights at The Ballpark at Jackson will additionally be marked by an on-field transformation into the Hub City Hippos, the Generals' lovable alter-ego! Tennessee 811 will sponsor the 2018 Hippos jerseys, which will be auctioned off, with proceeds benefitting the Boys and Girls Club of Jackson. 
Leading into home weekends, the Generals will introduce "Dollar Dogs and Drinks" on Thursday nights. Fans can purchase hot dogs, soft drinks, and beer for just $1 each on those nights, courtesy of Disaster Services!

Firework Shows, Education Days boost appeal for rookie Generals fans


Firework shows, a longtime post-game accompaniment to Saturday nights at The Ballpark, are scheduled for all eleven home Saturday contests. The Generals will also host a game on Independence Day for the second straight year, and fans will consequently be treated to special Fourth of July fireworks after Jackson's game against the Tennessee Smokies!        
For school-age children, the Generals are hosting five Education Days peppered throughout the season's first three months! Three 11:05 am games in April and a 12:05 pm contest in May will all allow free admission to children who come with their school class as a group, and they will be treated to a pre-game on-field program led by Sarge and other personalities. The 12:05 pm contest on June 26 will be designated as Splash Day, allowing free admission and a pre-game program for kids who arrive with their day camp groups from all over West Tennessee! The Jackson Fire Department will help provide cool entertainment for Splash Day attendees to kick off the start of summer.      

Meet the team one night, watch them the next!


Leading up to Opening Night on April 5, the Generals will host their annual "Meet the Players" event at Englewood Baptist Church on April 4 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Players and coaches will introduce themselves to fans, sign autographs, and pose for photos on the night before the season's first game!
