Generals announce addition and promotions to front office staff

Staff getting prepared for busy 2014 baseball season

JACKSON, TENN. (NOVEMBER 5, 2013) - General Manager Jason Compton is proud to announce several new additions and promotions to the Jackson Generals' front office staff for the 2014 season.

The new additions to the front office include Manager of Group Ticket Sales, Chris Freeman; Manager of Corporate Sales, Marc Kaufman; Manager of Catering and Concessions Eric Kormanik and Manager of Publications and Design, Patrick Wallace.

Freeman interned with Batavia Muckdogs for three seasons, Walt Disney World College Program, and two years as a full time Sales and Operations Executive for the Double-A Midland RockHounds. Chris is from Batavia, New York, and has a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from St. Bonaventure University.

Kaufman spent the last two years in Oregon with the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes of the Northwest League. Marc is a native of South Brunswick, New Jersey and attended NJIT before starting his career in baseball. He previously interned for the Sussex Skyhawks and the Lakewood BlueClaws.

Kormanik joins the Generals from the Advanced A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, the High Desert Mavericks and.is a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Sport Management. Eric now lives in Jackson with his wife of two years, Ellen.

Wallace is a native of St. Louis, Missouri and earned his Bachelor Degree in Communications and English from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2011, where he also did play-by-play for Missouri Softball. Prior to joining the Generals, Patrick previously gained experience in Double-A baseball as a Production Assistant with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, a Double-A Affiliate of the Kansas City Royals during the 2013 season.

Three front office staff members will be taking over new roles for the 2014 season. Clay Fowler will now serve as Manager of Ticket Operations; Chris Turpin, Manager of Stadium Operations and Nick Hall, Manager of Promotions and Merchandising.

Fowler enters his second season with the Generals and is a native of Jackson and a 2007 graduate of Jackson Christian. Fowler received his Bachelors of Business Administration from Ole Miss in 2011, where he served as a quarterback of the Rebels for two seasons. Clay finished his Master's in Sport Management from MTSU in 2012.

Hall is in his fifth season with the Jackson Generals and is in charge of making sure every fan leaves with a smile and wanting to come back for another game. Nick graduated in May from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville with a Sport Management Degree.

Turpin is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee, and enters his second season with the Generals. Chris is a 2007 graduate of South Doyle High School where he played both baseball and basketball. Chris is a 2013 graduate of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in Sport Management and Business Administration.

Mike Peasley returns for his third season as VP of Sales and Marketing. Charles Ferrell returns for his third season as Accounting Manager. Chris Harris returns for his sixth season as Manager of Media Relations and Broadcasting and Marty Wallace returns for his third season as Turf Manager for the Generals.

General Manager Jason Compton added, "I am very excited to have the front office team that we have assembled going into 2014. We have brought in a ton of baseball experience from all over the country while still having a local flare to our team. It is a great balance and our fans are going to see a lot of different things as the 2014 season gets under way next April."

The Generals open their 17th season on Thursday, April 3, 2014 in Chattanooga, Tenn against the Lookouts (LAD). The club opens at The Ballpark in Jackson on Wednesday April 9, 2014 against the Mississippi Braves (ATL).
