Ramon Marcelino and Alan Trejo hit back-to-back homers with two out in the second inning as the Grand Junction Rockies beat the Helena Brewers 4-1 Saturday night at Kindrick Legion Field.
The home runs came on back-to-back pitches and followed the Brewers scoring an unearned run off Anderson Amarista in the first, but with the bases loaded and one out, Trejo started a double play to keep them to just the one run.
Ryan Vilade's RBI single in the third extended the Rockies' lead to 3-1, and Pedro Gonzalez's seventh inning RBI double stretched it to three runs. All four Rockies runs scored with two out.
Amarista earned his third win, going six innings and allowing six hits. He didn't walk anyone and struck out one. Brandon Lambright stranded two runners in the seventh, and after Colton Hathcock tossed a 1-2-3 eighth inning, Jefry Valdez worked around an error in the bottom of the ninth to earn his sixth save.
The win improves the Rockies to 7-4 in the second half, 25-24 overall.
Gonzalez finished with three hits and was a home run shy of the cycle. He is 6-for-8 in the series.
Shael Mendoza finished with a pair of hits as did Trejo and Marcelino.
