MIDLAND, Mich. - The Great Lakes Loons and Dow Chemical Employees' Credit Union (DCECU) are thrilled to announce a new, multi-year partnership coinciding with the Loons upcoming 2019 season.
"Dow Chemical Employees' Credit Union is truly honored to be the first-ever official credit union of Great Lakes Loons," said DCECU President/CEO Dennis Hanson. "As our membership base grows, our commitment to supporting the community grows as well - whether it's through sponsorships like this one, volunteer activities throughout the area or donation drives in support of local nonprofits."
Under the agreement, DCECU is the new exclusive credit union partner of the Great Lakes Loons. They are the first-ever naming rights partner of the Northern Lights Pavilion, an all-inclusive 500-person hospitality venue located down the left field line at Dow Diamond. DCECU will also be the presenting sponsor of Loons wins. With every Loons win, DCECU will donate $100 to the Diaper Alliance, a non-profit that provides diapers to families in need throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region. With $100, Diaper Alliance is able to provide 800 diapers.
"We are so grateful for DCECU's support in helping the Diaper Alliance grow," Diaper Alliance Founder/Executive Director Debi Keyes said. "We try to spend most of our funds on purchasing diapers, which doesn't leave us much of a budget for marketing. This partnership gives us priceless exposure that will allow us to focus our resources on our greatest priority, while also raising awareness of who we are and what we do."
New for 2019 will be the DCECU Rookie Signing Bonus. As part of the promotion, DCECU will award a pre-selected child $50 to put towards their savings and an additional $10 per run the Loons score during the game the child attends. Fans register their children online at loons.com/dcecu.
"The Loons are truly excited to forge a partnership with an organization that shares our values and commitment to the community," Loons Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer Chris Mundhenk said. "Our collaborative efforts with Dow Chemical Employees' Credit Union will create new ways for our fans to experience Loons baseball while positively impacting a non-profit organization that provides vital services in our region."
The Great Lakes Loons have been the Single-A partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers since the team's inception in 2007. Dow Diamond serves as the team's home and also houses the Michigan Baseball Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity, and ESPN 100.9-FM.
