Loons Announce 2015 Promotional Lineup

New promotions, 13 Fireworks Loontaculars highlight lineup
February 20, 2015

MIDLAND, Mich. - The Great Lakes Loons are excited to announce their 2015 promotional schedule, packed with a strong variety of family-friendly entertainment, including theme nights, giveaways and national entertainers.

While many fan favorites will return to this season's lineup, the schedule also features some new and exciting twists and turns.

The season begins on April 9 with the Opening Day Celebration. This year's celebration features a parade on Main Street, and will be headlined with performances by the X Pogo Stunt Team. Following the parade, the Loons will play the Fort Wayne TinCaps at Dow Diamond at 6 p.m.

"We're excited to be offering many new promotions to our fans, like our Kids Eat Free Sundays and Family Campout Night," said Chris Mundhenk, Loons Vice President of Marketing & Entertainment. "Our goal is to offer not just a baseball game, but a truly unique entertainment experience packed with fun and value for our fans."

A new addition to this year's promotional lineup is Kids Eat Free Sundays. Presented by the Soaring Eagle Water Park and Hotel, all kids ages 5-12 will be able to eat for free during every Sunday home game throughout the 2015 season.

Also new is Family Campout Night, scheduled for Friday, June 5. Families will have the opportunity to camp out at Dow Diamond following that evening's game against the Peoria Chiefs. Campers will set up their tents in the outfield and watch a movie on the video board.

Among the additions to this year's entertainment lineup is an appearance by Dennis Haskins, a.k.a. Mr. Belding, from the sitcom 'Saved by the Bell.' Haskins will be available for photographs, autographs and will host a karaoke show following the Loons game against South Bend on July 29. Also, Dow Diamond will host 'Back to the Future' night on July 2 featuring the DeLorean Time Machine.

In addition to performing on Opening Day, the X Pogo Stunt Team will return on June 27 with their high-flying pogo show that has set 13 Guiness World Records, while returning this season is the wildly-popular 'Dueling Pianos' act, which will perform at Dow Diamond on August 6-7.

Hump Day Happy Hour returns for every Wednesday game at Dow Diamond. This promotion features drink specials for fans 21-over from the time gates open to one hour after the scheduled game time.

There will 13 popular Fireworks Loontaculars, powered by Dow Corning, with the first show taking place on Saturday, May 23, when the Loons host the Lake County Captains.

With a continuing emphasis on offering more value, the Loons will again feature Chemical Bank $1 Family Feast Nights during each Thursday home game. Fans can purchase hot dogs, ice cream sandwiches, and 16 oz. Pepsi products for just $1 each.

Farm Bureau Insurance will present two Sunday Pre-Game Youth Baseball Clinics (June 7 and June 28) featuring baseball instruction from Loons players. Each child attending the clinic will receive a free baseball courtesy of Farm Bureau. Farm Bureau also returns as the presenting sponsor of Kids Run the Bases, which will follow every Sunday home game.

On July 18, there will be both a Star Wars Night and a Jersey-off-the-back auction. As part of the event, characters from the Star Wars series will interact with fans and hold themed contests. Fans will also be able to bid for special Storm Troopers jerseys - to be worn by Loons players - with top bidders being escorted to the field following the game to collect their jerseys.

Social Media Night returns for every Monday home game, allowing fans to directly interact with the Loons through multiple social media platforms. Fans not currently engaging with the Loons via social media can "like" the team on Facebook, or "follow" the team (@greatlakesloons) on Twitter.

Every Tuesday home game will be a Dodgers Route of Champions Night. The Dodger-themed promotional series will highlight former Loons players, and the storied history of the Dodgers organization through in-game content, on field contests, and more.

Many other theme nights mark the promo calendar this summer, including School Kids Day (May 13-14), Let it Go Night & Snow Queen Appearance (May 23), Bark in the Park (June 3), Scout Night Sleepover (June 26), Raining Money Night (July 9), Murder Mystery Night (August 21), Country Western Night (August 22), Super Splash Day (August 23), and Turn Back the Clock Day and Retro Jersey-off-the-back-auction (Aug. 30).
