Loons baseball is back in 7 short days! We have partnered with Midland Business Alliance to celebrate small businesses every Tuesday game night.

If you’re anything like our staff, you definitely missed small businesses and restaurants this year and we have a soft spot for small businesses because we are one (although we work in a huge, gorgeous facility)! Tuesday game nights, we salute small businesses from the Midland Area. They will have displays on the concourse for you to visit and build stronger connections with the small businesses in your community.

This week, Midland Business Alliance is welcoming local favorite restaurants, including Basil Thai Bistro, Captain Dave’s, Midland Brewing Co., Pi’s Chinese Restaurant, Pizza Baker, Pizza Sam’s, WhichCraft Taproom, and Genji Japanese Steakhouse.

Come see us every Tuesday game night as the Midland Business Alliance introduces a new category of small businesses. Who will they bring on May 18th? You'll have to show up to find out!

Day 8 is a Monday, and you might have noticed that we aren't playing baseball on ANY Mondays this year.

We'll admit, not working on Mondays sounds great at first. But our fans, employees, and players absolutely loved welcoming Veterans and Active Duty soldiers to the ballpark for Military Mondays. We are thrilled to continue and expand the program this year on Tuesdays with a little help from our partners at Hemlock Semiconductor (HSC).

This year, HSC is providing free ballpark meals to our Military guests, first responders, and frontline healthcare workers as part of Hometown Heroes Tuesday.

BUT IT GETS EVEN BETTER!

HSC is donating 1,000 tickets to Hometown Heroes throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region, and all you have to do is fill out the form in the link below to nominate a hero in your life. We HIGHLY recommend that qualifying community members nominate themselves while you're at it!

Tick. Tick. Tick. Only Nine days left! The number nine is special in baseball...

Nine Innings.

Nine players.

Ninety feet between bases.

Nine was most recently worn by former Loons top prospect, Michael Busch.

Nine is currently worn by 2017 Loon, Gavin Lux.

Nine is the number Loons All-Time Great, Dee Strange-Gordon, wore while he played with the Dodgers.

And maybe most importantly, nine is the number of innings we have to entertain the fans at Dow Diamond every game, and we want to maximize those moments.

But we need your help!

Please take a moment and check out our Fun For Fans page to see if you want to become part of our nine innings of fun. We're looking for teachers, students, active-duty military, veterans, first responders, front-line medical workers, kids with loud voices, Kids Club members, and even kids who like FREE MONEY to help us bring the ballpark to life this summer. That's NINE different groups of people that YOU might be a part of.

The best part is, our tickets are VERY limited, but many of our programs come with tickets!

Loons Baseball is only Ten days away!

Our staff is working around the clock to get Dow Diamond ready for Opening Day presented by Fidelity Investments! The stadium was buzzing today as our operations crew put up new signage, our front office hosted a Game Day staff training session, and our grounds crew played in the dirt. (What else would they be doing?) After a loooooooooong layoff, it finally feels like baseball is right around the corner.

Check back over the next ten days as we highlight weekly promotions, ballpark updates, fan contests, and much more as the Countdown to Opening Day rolls on!
