"When our tickets for all 70 home games go on sale on the first day of March, it's a great way to kick off the final month before baseball in Mid-Michigan officially returns," Loons Senior Vice President and General Manager Scott Litle said.
"Two years ago, we celebrated our 10th season, capped off by a Midwest League title. Last year, we hosted the MWL All-Star Game for the second time. This year, the new video board is going to reaffirm that 'wow' factor when fans come to Dow Diamond. We can't wait to open our gates for another season of baseball in Midland."
Partnering with Daktronics, the Michigan Baseball Foundation installed the 5th-largest video board in Minor League Baseball and largest in the Midwest League in September 2017. The eye-popping screen measures 31 feet tall by 80 feet wide. Coupled with the new ribbon displays measuring on the front façade of the suite level down each baseline, the in-park experience will be like nothing a Loons fan has experienced in the first 11 seasons.
Opening Day is Thursday, April 5, when the Loons host the Lansing Lugnuts. The three bobblehead giveaway nights will be some of the most popular nights on the calendar: June 9 (Corey Seager), July 7 (Kenley Jansen), August 4 (Clayton Kershaw).
The Loons are proud to continue to offer fans affordable entertainment, no matter the day of the week.
Wednesdays: Hump Day Happy Hour
Thursdays: $1 Family Feast Night presented by Chemical Bank
Fridays: Fridays at Five
Sundays: Kids Eat Free presented by Soaring Eagle Waterpark & Hotel
Sundays: Kids Run the Bases presented by Farm Bureau Insurance
And don't forget about our Fireworks Loontaculars presented by Chemical Bank. This season 13 shows in all will light up the skies above the outfield grass including four in June, three in July, and six in August/September. Fans can find the 2018 promotion schedule on Loons.com
The Loons ticket office is also taking orders for a variety of ticket packages, starting at $50. Every purchase of a ticket package also automatically enrolls fans in the Chemical Bank Founders Club, offering members exclusive benefits other ticket buyers don't receive.
Larger groups can also book a customized outing in one of the various group venues offered around the ballpark: nightly suite, Northern Lights Pavilion, Lasorda's Landing, Shoreline Box, Pier 47, The Peninsula, or The Great Lakes Reserve.
The Great Lakes Loons have been the Single-A partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers since the team's inception in 2007. Dow Diamond serves as the team's home and also houses the Michigan Baseball Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity, and ESPN 100.9-FM.
