Greeneville Reds Announce Opening Day Roster

GREENEVILLE, TN - The Greeneville Reds have announced it's 2019 Opening Day roster, which includes 14 players selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the 2019 draft, and one returnee from their inaugural season.
The roster is headlined by high school infielders Rece Hinds and Tyler Callihan.
The Reds selected Hinds in the second round, 49th overall, out of IMG Academy in Florida. The Niceville, FL native was committed to play at LSU. Hinds participated in Major League Baseball's High School Home Run Derby during All-Star Weekend at Nationals Park.
Callihan was drafted in the third round, 85th overall, out of the Providence School of Jacksonville in Florida. The Neptune Beach, FL native was committed to play at South Carolina. Callihan was a member of USA Baseball's 18-and-Under Na- tional team that took home a gold medal at the Pan American Championships in Panama.
Junior College infielder Ivan Johnson will join Hinds and Callihan in the infield. The Reds selected Johnson in the fourth round out of Chipola College in Florida. The 20-year-old from Atlanta hit .381 (72-for-189) with nine home runs and 49 RBI's in 57 games this past season.
Conference USA pitchers Evan Kravetz and Graham Ashcraft highlight the Reds pitching staff.
The Reds selected LHP Evan Kravetz out of Rice in the fifth round. The 22-year-old from Miami, FL made 14 starts for the Owls in 2019. He went 6-2 with a 3.24 ERA, striking out 108 in 80.2 innings. Opponents hit just .200 off Kravetz.
RHP Graham Ashcraft was selected in the sixth round out of the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The 21-year-old made 17 appearances, nine starts, for the Blazers in 2019. He went 2-5 with a 5.62 ERA, he struck out 53 in 56 innings.

The Greeneville Reds welcome back two coaches from their inaugural season, Manager Gookie Dawkins and Bench Coach Reggie Williams. The Reds finished 28-40 under Dawkins in 2018. The former second round pick is now in his fifth season with the Cincinnati Reds. Williams is in his second season with the organization.
Greeneville has a new Pitching Coach, Chris Booker, Hitting Coach, Luis Terrero, Athletic Trainer, Josh Hobson, and Strength & Conditioning Coach, Alex Puskarich.
