GreenJackets Beat Drive for Second Straight Win

Lujan Continues To Be Reliable

Augusta, GA--The Augusta GreenJackets (15-14) won two in a row against the Greenville Drive (14-12), Saturday night, at Lake Olmstead Stadium. The GreenJackets beat the Drive 4-2. 

Just like the previous night, the GreenJackets had a strong start against the Drive's starting pitcher. Tyler Horan's two run home run put the GreenJackets on top, 2-0, in the first inning. A double and single scored the GreenJackets third run in the second inning. 

A triple by Jeremy Sy and a single by Brandon Bednar scored the GreenJackets final run, in the seventh inning.

Matt Lujan (4-1), continued to perform well on the mound for the GreenJackets. In his sixth game of the season, Lujan pitched six and one thirds inning, allowing one run and he struck out eight. So far this season Lujan has pitched 31 innings and allowed eight runs, two walks and struck out 29 batters. 

Greenville scored their first run in the third inning off of a single, a double, and a fielding error by Ryan Tuntland. Their final run of the night was scored on a ground out by Jordan Weems.

Game three of the series continues Sunday, May 4th, at Lake Olmstead Stadium. It's "May the Fourth Be With You". Come out and meet your favorite Star Wars characters! It's also a Junior Jackets Game. GreenJackets LHP Christian Jones (1-2 3.38) will make the start against Greenvilles's RHP Jamie Callahan (1-2, 5.32).
