GreenJackets Lose to Drive Sunday Afternoon

Drive's Pitching Puts a Stop to GreenJackets Offense

Augusta, GA--The Augusta GreenJackets (15-15) suffered a devastating loss to the Greenville Drive (15-12), Sunday afternoon, at Lake Olmstead Stadium. The Drive beat the GreenJackets 12-2. 

The GreenJackets had just eight hits in the game, left ten men on base and went two for fifteen with runners in scoring position. The team scored their two runs in the fifth inning on a ground out by Jeremy Sy. 

Greenville successfully hit off of the GreenJackets pitching. Their first two runs were scored off of a triple, by Jordan Witte, in the third inning. The team then scored six runs in the fifth inning. The team scored their final four runs in the ninth inning. Kendrick Perkins hit a two run home run on a 0-0 pitch. A single, a fielding error and a wild pitch allowed Zach Kapstein to score. Jesus Loya scored the final run of the game on a sacrifice fly by Jake Romanski. 

The series concludes on Monday, May 5th, at Lake Olmstead Stadium. It's Cinco de Drinko! It's a Feed Your Face Monday with Thirsty Thursday prices on draft beers and Coca-Cola fountain sodas.
