GreenJackets Set Attendance Records in Opening Weekend

GreenJackets look to continue record breaking momentum into second homestand

Augusta, GA- The Augusta GreenJackets, Single A Affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, welcomed 19,274 fans to the first four games in 2017, which set a Lake Olmstead Stadium record! The GreenJackets fans set the attendance record for the highest-attended series in the 29 seasons of baseball in Augusta as well as the biggest crowd ever at Lake Olmstead Stadium on Opening Night.

The GreenJackets opening series attendance increased by 31% over the last season. The single game attendance record was previously set on Thursday, May 21st in 2009 with 5,828 fans attending the game. 

"I would never have imagined we would be setting attendance records on our opening series in our final season at the Lake, what a tremendous experience. Now we just need to celebrate our home all season long." Stated Jeff Eiseman, GreenJackets President.

The 29th season at Lake Olmstead stadium kicked off with 3 consecutive standing room only sellouts: Thursday, April 13th was 5,830, Friday, April 14th was 5,330 and Saturday, April 15th was 5,469. The GreenJackets look forward to continuing to provide affordable, family, fun all summer long for the CSRA!
