Augusta, GA-The Augusta GreenJackets are excited to host the third Annual Clash of Cans Food Drive on Thursday, August 17th at Lake Olmstead Stadium. Fans are encouraged to bring in canned foods and put them in their favorite college bin (Augusta University, Paine College, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Georgia Southern, Clemson and South Carolina).
Fans that bring canned food items to the game can enter-to-win some AWESOME giveaways. In addition to the Clash of Cans, the August 17th game will be the FINAL Thirsty Thursday at the Lake ever featuring $1 beverages presented by The Hideout and 93.9 BOB FM.
"We are excited to partner up with Golden Harvest Food Bank for our 3rd Annual Clash of Cans Food Drive," GreenJackets General Manager, Brandon Greene, stated. " Not only will fans be able to show their school spirit be wearing their favorite teams gear, but also by dropping off a few cans in that school's food bin. This will be a great way to celebrate the end of an era - the FINAL Thirsty Thursday at the Lake."
It is also College Football Night where fans can get a $7 General Admission ticket if they wear a college football jersey or show their college ID when buying their tickets.
To go along with the theme of College Football, the GreenJackets will be hosting an ultimate tailgate makeover. Fans will get to compete in in-game promotions throughout the game to ultimately come out on top and win a Rec Tec Grill and other prizes for tailgating season this upcoming football season.
The gates will open at 6:00pm with first pitch scheduled for 7:05pm.
