The Greenville Drive's 8th Annual Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering Night returns to Fluor Field on Tuesday, July 18th - Gates open at 6 PM, and the baseball game begins at 7:05 PM, however, all students are encouraged to arrive early (5:30 PM) to be part of a panel discussion featuring industry leaders from Greenville Technical College, Greenville County Schools, GE, Michelin, and BMW Manufacturing.

This signature event provides K-12 students, and their parents, a unique look into the world of STEM education and opportunities for careers at leading organizations located right here in the Upstate. Participating exhibitors will allow students to receive a hands-on experience with virtual and augmented reality, robotics, 3D animation and printers, and so much more!

Our 2023 Panelists

Mr. Estevez is a Venture Partner with Accel, one of the most successful venture capital firms in Silicon Valley of the last 40 years. Either as an executive or investor, he has been involved in the creation of 8 software unicorns ($1B+ in value), and he currently serves as a board advisor to 10 companies and funds.

Before his current roles, Mr. Estevez served as Chief Financial Officer of Atlassian (Nasdaq: TEAM), a global leader in team collaboration software valued at over $40 billion. Prior to Atlassian, Mr. Estevez served as CFO of Silicon Valley-based BigFix (sold to IBM) and President & CFO of South Carolina-based Datastream (Nasdaq: DSTM, sold to Infor).

He earned an MBA with distinction from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management and a bachelor's degree with honors from Harvard College. In 2014, Mr. Estevez relocated from Silicon Valley to Greenville, South Carolina, his wife's hometown and his new springboard for investment and advisory opportunities outside of the Bay Area.

Scott Medley began his career with BMW Manufacturing in 1997 as logistics manager responsible for warehouse operations. Quickly building a strong proficiency for manufacturing operations, including strategy planning, target management and process compliance, Medley migrated from logistics to the company’s human resource department. Since 2006, Medley has managed BMW’s Associate Relations, Recruiting and International HR functions as well as Safety/Health and Food Services. In these roles, Medley has direct oversight of associate relations for the plant’s workforce, ensuring advocacy for the associates and maintaining a positive, rewarding work environment.

While in these functions, Medley has overseen the growth and development needs of BMW’s South Carolina workforce. Management of these processes focused on compliance and adherence to government and company guidelines as well as legal structures for inbound and outbound BMW associates.

Dr. Keith Miller has served as leader of Greenville Technical College since 2008, the third college presidency of his career. In addition to local and statewide leadership roles, he has held many national positions in higher education, including chairman of the board for the American Association of Community Colleges and board member for the American Council on Education.

Throughout her career in education, Katie Porter has been a strong advocate for college and career readiness and currently serves as the director of the new CTE Innovation Center, the newest addition in Greenville County Schools. She has been an integral part of building industry and educational partnerships, developing strategies for growth across the district, and helping increase the enrollment and partnerships in career and technical education. She is a member of the Junior League of Greenville and serves on the board of directors for GirlUpGVL.

A passionate technology leader with a proven track record of building highly functioning teams and delivering innovation in digital solutions, design software, modeling & Simulation for engineering and manufacturing to achieve timely business outcomes. Chingwei has over twenty years of experience with GE, and in his latest role as CIO - Data Science & Automation, his team is collaborating with various functional and IT partners to develop AI/ML capabilities to enable Hyper-Automation vision.

Terec serves as the Area Personnel Manager at the Michelin North America PRIME facility in Greenville, S.C. Terec joined Michelin in 2008 as a plant controller and has spent the last 15 years holding various roles in the industrial and corporate sectors of the company. He is currently responsible for supporting the industrial employees at the PRIME facility, which manufactures tires for ultra-high-performance vehicles. Before moving into his current role, Terec worked as the Health and Wellness Programs and Communication Manager where he was responsible for the communication around Michelin’s U.S. benefit programs and the development of employee wellness engagement. Prior to joining Michelin, Terec held positions at Lockheed-Martin and Prisma Health where he worked as a financial analyst and a supervisor of patient account services, respectively. Terec is a native of Greenville, SC and a graduate of Southern Wesleyan University where he received a degree in Business Administration.
