Drive Offense Stays Hot in 10-5 Win in Augusta

North Augusta, SC - The Greenville Drive offense continued its recent hot streak on Friday night, as they collected 14 hits and defeated the Augusta GreenJackets 10-5 in the opener of a four-game series.
Six of the nine starters for the Drive (27-21, 52-65) posted multi-hit games. Jordan Wren led the way by going 3-4 at the plate, while Samuel Miranda drove in four runs in a 2-4 game. Pedro Castellanos, Ryan Fitzgerald, Tanner Nishioka and Kervin Suarez all collected two hits as well.
After falling behind 1-0 early, the Drive scored 10 unanswered runs between the fourth and seventh innings. Castellanos tied the game with a fourth inning single, and Zach Sterry drove in the go-ahead run with a fielder's choice off Garrett Cave (5-7).
Nishioka's single in the fifth plated one run, and Miranda drove in two more with a single in the sixth to aextend the lead to 5-1.
Miranda added another two-run single as part of a five-run seventh, which also featured RBI hits from Castellanos, Wren and Suarez.
Durin O'Linger (3-1) got the win for Greenville on the mound, as the right-hander struck out seven GreenJackets (19-26, 56-57) hitters over five innings while allowing just one run.

Augusta scored four runs over the final two innings on a two-run triple by Logan Baldwin, an RBI groundout by Jeffry Parra and a solo homer by Manuel Geraldo.
The teams will face off again in Augusta on Saturday night at 6:05. Left-hander Enmanuel De Jesus (6-3, 3.38) takes the ball for the Drive, and he will be opposed by GreenJackets left-hander Caleb Baragar (0-2, 4.96).
