Announcement highlights unique partnership between two Greenville mainstays
April 6, 2016

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Drive and The Iron Yard have entered into a unique partnership at Fluor Field, highlighted by the all-new The Iron Yard 500 Club which was unveiled Tuesday evening during the annual "Meet the Team" dinner with Drive Ticket Plan Holders.

"The creation of this partnership provides us with yet another reason to be excited as we begin the second decade of baseball in Downtown Greenville," commented Drive Owner/Team President Craig Brown. "Like the Drive, The Iron Yard takes a lot of pride in being part of the fabric of the Greenville community, and with the unveiling of The Iron Yard 500 Club, together we are excited to provide our fans at Fluor Field with more improvements to our already top-notch fan experience. This partnership extends well beyond the walls of Fluor Field, and into the Upstate Community."

The Iron Yard 500 Club has received an upgraded atmosphere for the 2016 season. Some of the improvements include an extended roof, enclosed louver system on two sides of the space for added protection from the elements, a video wall with new televisions, new speakers, new furniture and new graphics featuring the members of the 500 Home Run Club, including the members of the club from the Red Sox.

"Not only is Greenville our headquarters, it is also our hometown. Our partnership with the Drive gives us the opportunity to share our story and the stories of some of our local graduates with our community," said Peter Barth, CEO of The Iron Yard. "We're looking forward to an awesome season and a great partnership with Drive fans."

Founded in 2012 as an accelerator program, The Iron Yard has grown into the largest coding school in the country, featuring 22 campuses across the United States. The Iron Yard's mission is to connect with people pursuing the craft and lifelong adventure of technology and help equip them with the skills they need to both get started and progress throughout their careers.

Brown added, "The Greenville Drive and The Iron Yard are both committed to advancing the Upstate's economic development environment, which makes this partnership so unique to Fluor Field. The Iron Yard exists to create real, lasting change for people, companies, and communities through technology education. Fluor Field provides a platform for The Iron Yard to share its mission with community members and Drive fans."

In addition to the extensive enhancements that have been applied to the area, The Iron Yard 500 Club will be home to a pair of exciting Drive promotional nights throughout the 2016 season. A Fluor Field staple, Dollar Drink Nights will return to The Iron Yard 500 Club on Thursday nights.

A tradition of The Iron Yard will also make its way to Fluor Field with "Iron Pints" each Wednesday night in The Iron Yard 500 Club. This will be a unique social gathering amongst staff and students from The Iron Yard, as well as Drive fans alike. A commemorative Iron Pints pint glass will also be available for purchase in The Iron Yard 500 Club.

The Iron Yard 500 Club menu has also been revamped, and will be home to a wide variety of food and beverage options that go above and beyond standard ballpark fare, including specialty burgers, wraps, sandwiches, appetizers and much more.

"The Iron Yard 500 Club is going to be the premier place for Drive fans and young professionals to gather for networking, learning more about The Iron Yard and enjoy baseball at Fluor Field," said Drive General Manager Eric Jarinko. "The expansive menu, drink specials and entertainment will keep fans coming back to try something new at each game."

The partnership also includes DriveVision videos featuring success stories from the Drive's recent rosters and The Iron Yard's coding graduates, The Iron Yard sponsoring the first Drive home run in each game at Fluor Field, and a special #DriveToCode hashtag that will be used on social media for posts involving The Iron Yard.
