After two uneventful innings, Hickory made their first move at the bottom of the third when Jayce Easley hit a homer after a pitch from Drive player Chih-Jung Liu.
The Crawdads hit back again in the fifth inning when Scott Kapers hit a home run himself to make Hickory lead by two runs.
Greenville continued to struggle as the players could not get into a rhythm while the Crawdads continued to score.
Hickory extended their lead further at the bottom of the sixth when Frainyer Chavez hit a double to send two men back to home plate. No runs were scored after leaving the Drive with an empty scoreboard.
Drive Pitcher Chih-Jung Liu took the loss after pitching five innings with an ERA of 5.13 and six strikeouts.
The Drive will continue the series at the Crawdads tomorrow 7:00pm.
