Greenville, SC - The Greenville Drive and Charleston RiverDogs faced off in a pitcher's duel on Sunday afternoon at Fluor Field, and the RiverDogs scored in the eighth inning to come away with a 1-0 victory.
The only thing that could stop the momentum of both pitching staffs was a 59-minute rain delay in the top of the eighth. Hildemaro Requena matched a career-high with seven scoreless innings for the Drive (4-7, 29-51), allowing just two hits with six strikeouts and no walks. Janson Junk worked six shutout innings of his own for the RiverDogs (7-2, 40-37) with seven strikeouts.
Right after the rain delay, Leonardo Molina was hit by a Devon Fisher (3-6) pitch, and after moving to second on a wild pitch, Matt McPhearson singled to center field to bring home the game's only run.

The Drive offense had several chances to score throughout the day, but relievers Daniel Ramos (5-2) and Anderson Severino protected the 1-0 lead over the final two innings.
Everlouis Lozada went 2-4 for Greenville.
The Battle of the Palmetto State presented by Spinx continues on Monday night at Fluor Field at 7:05. Left-hander Enmanuel De Jesus (2-0, 3.27) starts for the Drive against RiverDogs right-hander Rony Garcia (2-4, 4.37).
