G-Braves to Host "Mark Bowman Day" on July 17

Atlanta Braves' MLB.com beat writer will throw out first pitch before 6:35 PM game

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA - The Gwinnett Braves will host longtime Atlanta Braves' MLB.com beat writer Mark Bowman for "Mark Bowman Day" at Coolray Field on Thursday, July 17. Bowman will be on hand to throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the 6:35 PM game against the Durham Bulls.

Bowman has served as MLB.com's Braves beat reporter since 2001. During his 14 seasons in the role, he has covered many of the organization's legends, including 2014 Hall-of-Famers Bobby Cox, Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine and future Hall-of-Famers Chipper Jones and John Smoltz. He has covered many of Major League Baseball's top events like the All-Star Game and the World Series.

In addition to his first pitch duties, Bowman will also hold a brief Q&A session to discuss Atlanta Braves' baseball with Home Plate Club ticketholders at 5:30 PM. Home Plate Club tickets are on sale now by calling the Coolray Field Ticket Office at 678-277-0340.
