Diamond Dig, Chopper's Birthday Celebration, High School Football Day Highlight Seven-Game Homestand

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA - The Gwinnett Braves return to Coolray Field for a seven-game homestand from Monday, August 7 through Sunday, August 13. The G-Braves will host the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees) for three games from August 7-9, and the Louisville Bats (Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) for four games from August 10-13.

 

The homestand is highlighted by the Diamond Dig (sponsored by Georgia 811) after the game on August 11, Chopper's Birthday Celebration, a G-Braves Lunch Box Giveaway (sponsored by Georgia Power) and Post-Game Fireworks on August 12 (game presented by Aetna), and High School Football Day featuring a Jeff Francoeur autograph signing and Post-Game Candy Drop (sponsored by Blue Ridge Helicopters) on August 13.

Monday, August 7

  • Diamond Dig - Following the game, 100 randomly selected registrants will have the opportunity to dig for one of 10 pieces of diamond jewelry (sponsored by Frederick's Jewelers in Braselton) on the Coolray Field infield. The Diamond Dig is sponsored by Georgia 811.

 

Saturday, August 12

  • Chopper's Birthday Celebration - Join Chopper the Groundhog and his mascot friends for his annual birthday bash! Get autographs and photos from all of your favorite area mascots.
  • G-Braves Lunch Box Giveaway - The first 2,500 fans through the gates will receive a limited edition G-Braves lunch box, just in time for the school year (sponsored by Georgia Power).
  • Post-Game Fireworks - Stay after the game for a spectacular fireworks display.

 

Sunday, August 13

  • Sunday Funday - Fans are invited to play catch on the field prior to the game for approximately 20 minutes beginning at 12:05 p.m. After the game, kids (ages 12 and under) are welcome to run the bases as part of "Sunday Funday" (sponsored by Georgia United Credit Union).
  • Special Ticket Deal - Bring your ticket stub from Saturday, August 12 and receive a buy-one, get-one free deal on Field Box tickets.
  • High School Football Day - Celebrate the start of high school football season with the Gwinnett Braves! Find your Gwinnett County High School on the list at GwinnettBraves.com, purchase a $10 special-rate ticket by using the link at the bottom of the page and entering the unique code listed. Each ticket purchased using the school's unique code will count towards a contest between all high schools on the list. The school that has the most tickets purchased will receive a donation from the G-Braves.
  • Jeff Francoeur Autograph Signing - Former Atlanta Braves outfielder and Parkview High School's own Jeff Francoeur will be on hand to support his alma mater and sign autographs for fans from 12-12:45 p.m.
  • Post-Game Candy Drop - Following Kids Run The Bases, a helicopter will fly overhead dumping pounds of candy into the outfield for kids (ages 12 and under) to run out and collect (sponsored by Blue Ridge Helicopters).
