Of the 21 players…

Thirteen played for the Stripers in 2019, helping Gwinnett to its second International League South Division title: Camargo (.483/.531/.690, two homers, 15 RBIs in 14 games), Dayton (0-1, 3.04 ERA, 0.90 WHIP in 22 games), Duvall (.266/.364/.602, 32 homers, 93 RBIs in 101 games), Foltynewicz (5-1, 3.86 ERA, 1.29 WHIP in 10 starts), Inciarte (.231/.333/.269, one RBI in six games), Matzek (0-0, 9.00 ERA, 1.50 WHIP in five games), Minter (2-2, 3.57 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, five saves in 20 games), Newcomb (2-1, 2.18 ERA, 0.92 WHIP in four games), O’Day (0-0, 0.00 ERA, 0.50 WHIP in two games), Riley (.293/.366/.626, 15 homers, 41 RBIs in 44 games), Soroka (1-0, 3.86 ERA, 0.64 WHIP in two starts), Toussaint (1-6, 7.59 ERA, 1.99 WHIP in 10 starts), and Wright (11-4, 4.17 ERA, 1.26 WHIP in 21 starts). Of that group, only Matzek will be making his Braves debut in 2020.

Twelve made their Triple-A debuts with Gwinnett: Acuña Jr. (2017), Albies (2016), Camargo (2017), Freeman (2010), Fried (2017), Minter (2017), Newcomb (2017), Riley (2018), Soroka (2018), Swanson (2017), Toussaint (2018), and Wright (2018). Of that group, only Swanson made his MLB debut with the Braves before playing in Triple-A.

Three have won International League Postseason All-Star awards while with Gwinnett: Freeman at first base in 2010 (also named IL Rookie of the Year after hitting .319/.378/.521 with 35 doubles, 18 homers, and 87 RBIs in 124 games), Albies at second base in 2017 (.285/.330/.440, 38 extra-base hits, 41 RBIs, 67 runs, 21 stolen bases in 97 games), and Duvall at outfield in 2019. Duvall is coming off a 2019 season in which he set Gwinnett records for home runs (32), RBIs (93), slugging percentage (.602), and OPS (.966) in 101 games.

Two have made Opening Day starts for Gwinnett: Foltynewicz and Soroka. Foltynewicz started the 2015 opener vs. Durham (4.0 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 SO in 1-0 loss) and 2019 opener vs. Norfolk (5.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 2 SO in 3-1 win), while Soroka was the Opening Day starter for the Gwinnett’s first game as the Stripers in 2018 (5.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 SO in 3-1 win at Norfolk). The 22-year-old Soroka, just two seasons removed from making his Triple-A debut, will be the youngest Opening Day starter in Braves history when he takes the mound on Friday.

While none of the 30 are set to make their MLB debuts, one remains ranked on the Braves Top 30 Prospects List by MLB.com. Wright is slotted at No. 4 on the list after leading the IL in wins (11) and ranking among qualifying IL pitching leaders in lowest BAA (T-1st, .252), WHIP (2nd, 1.26), ERA (5th, 4.17), and strikeouts (9th, 116) in 2019.

The remaining players on Atlanta’s 60-man player pool will continue working out at the home of the Stripers, Coolray Field. The group of approximately 30 Taxi Squad-eligible players includes 2019 Stripers and current MLB.com Braves Top 30 Prospects Cristian Pache (No. 1), Drew Waters (No. 2), Ian Anderson (No. 3), Bryse Wilson (No. 6), Tucker Davidson (No. 10), Huascar Ynoa (No. 11), Patrick Weigel (No. 16), Alex Jackson (No. 22), and Phil Pfeifer (No. 28), among others.
