After starting the spring season 0-for-7, top prospect Ronald Acuña Jr. got into the swing of things Monday with his first base hit. He went 2-for-4 on Wednesday vs. the Mets, including a two-run single. On Thursday, he went 2-for-3 with a walk (Week totals: 3 games, 5-for-9, 1 R, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 SO).
Fellow rising prospect Austin Riley cranked his first home run of the spring Thursday against Tigers' Gerson Moreno (Week totals: 3 games, 1-for-5, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 BB).
On the mound, top pitching prospects Kolby Allard and Mike Soroka each had scoreless outings this week. Allard went 2.0 innings with two walks and one strikeout against the Mets, keeping his spring ERA at 0.00. Soroka also went 2.0 innings with two strikeouts.
Outfielder Danny Santana, fighting for a spot on the Atlanta roster, began the week 4-for-6 before registering an 0-for-4 game Thursday against the Nationals (Week totals: 3 games, 4-for-10, 1 R, 1 RBI, 2 SO).
Reliever Rex Brothers, who spent time with Double-A Mississippi, Gwinnett and Atlanta last season, recorded a save Monday despite surrendering a home run to Miami's Moisés Sierra (Week totals: 2.0 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 SO, 1 BB, 1 HR).
Miguel Socolovich, signed to a Minor League deal in the offseason, rebounded from a disastrous first appearance in a Braves uniform (0.2 IP, 6 ER, 3 H, 3 BB) to pitch 2.0 scoreless innings this week.
