Friday's 5-4 Braves loss to the New York Yankees gave fans a glimpse of what five-tool top prospect Ronald Acuña Jr. can bring to the table.
In his first at-bat Friday, Acuna blasted a Masahiro Tanaka fastball over the right-center field wall for his first home run of Spring Training. He singled in the third and stole second base, then singled again in the fifth inning, finishing the day 3-for-3 with two RBIs.
Here's a look at the weekend's scores:

March 2-4

  • 3/2: Yankees 5, Braves 4
  • 3/3: Braves 9, Cardinals 2
  • 3/4: Braves 5, Marlins 2

Here's a look at notable performances from top Braves prospects and former Gwinnett players:
Acuna went 1-for-2 with a walk Sunday against the Marlins, bringing his spring batting average up to .429 (9-for-21, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 2 SB) (Weekend totals: 2 games, 4-for-5, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 SB).

Veteran infielder Christian Colón, fighting for a spot on the Braves' Opening Day roster, went 2-for-3 with five RBIs Saturday against the Cardinals, including a three-run homer off starter Miles Mikolas (Weekend totals: 2 games, 2-for-4, 1 HR, 2 R, 5 RBI).
Rob Brantly, a potential catching candidate for Gwinnett this season, continued to impress at the plate, taking 2017 G-Brave Jason Motte deep in the sixth inning Saturday. Brantly is now 4-for-8 this spring (Weekend totals: 1 game, 2-for-2, 1 HR).
Pitching prospect Philip Pfeifer gave up a two-run walk-off homer to the Yankees' Tyler Austin Friday, bringing his spring ERA to 9.00 (Weekend totals: 0.1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 HR).
Pitcher Shane Carle rebounded from a rocky outing on February 28 against the Mets to throw two scoreless innings Saturday against St. Louis (Weekend totals: 2.0 IP, 1 H).
2017 G-Brave Aaron Blair made his second appearance of the spring with two scoreless innings Sunday against the Marlins (Weekend totals: 2.0 IP, 2 H, 1 BB).
