Terdoslavich Named to MLB Futures Game

Outfielder Joey Terdoslavich will represent Gwinnett, Atlanta in SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game on July 14
June 26, 2013

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA - Gwinnett Braves outfielder Joey Terdoslavich will represent the Atlanta Braves organization and the United States on Sunday, July 14 in the 15th annual SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, to be held at Citi Field in New York, NY. Rosters for both the U.S. and World Teams were announced today by Major League Baseball.

Terdoslavich, 24, will be the fourth active Gwinnett Braves player to participate in the annual showcase game that is included as part of Major League Baseball's All-Star Game festivities. First baseman Barbaro Canizares (World Team, 2009), left-hander Mike Minor (U.S. Team, 2010) and right-hander Julio Teheran (World Team, 2011) have all played in the Futures Game in previous seasons.

The switch-hitting Terdoslavich has been one of the hottest hitters in the Triple-A International League this season. As of June 26, he ranks fourth in the circuit in hitting with a .323 batting average. He also ranks among IL leaders in hits (1st, 96), total bases (1st, 176, 2nd in Minor League Baseball), extra-base hits (1st, 43, 3rd in Minor League Baseball), doubles (T-1st, 24), slugging percentage (3rd, .593), RBI (T-3rd, 57), OPS (4th, .952) and runs scored (T-6th, 44). This will be the first Futures Game for Terdoslavich, Atlanta's fourth-round selection in the 2010 First Year Player Draft out of Cal State Long Beach.

Terdoslavich is one of two Braves' prospects chosen for the game. Catcher Christian Bethancourt, a current member of the Double-A Mississippi Braves, will play for the World Team.

The 2013 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, part of Taco Bell All-Star Sunday, will air live on ESPN2, ESPN2 HD and MLB.com on Sunday, July 14 at 2:00 PM (EDT).

Terdoslavich and the Gwinnett Braves continue their series against the Buffalo Bisons Wednesday night at 6:05 PM. G-Braves right-hander David Hale (2-3, 4.37) will take the ball as he faces Buffalo right-hander Thad Weber (2-1, 2.01). Listen to the game on WDUN 550 AM and 102.9 FM with Dave Lezotte calling the play-by-play. First pitch is 6:05 PM.

Wednesday night is "Winning Wednesday" at Coolray Field. All fans are invited to participate in Baseball Bingo for a chance to win great prizes.
