Become a Suns Host Family

March 5, 2013

The Suns are seeking host families for the 2013 season. This community program offers a unique opportunity for families to provide a safe, comfortable home for players throughout their time in Hagerstown. There are several different ways to participate in the program, including full-season hosting and short-term hosting.

Hosting a Suns player is a great opportunity! As a host family, you provide a player a "home away from home." By hosting a player, you give that player, who is otherwise many miles away from his home environment and loved ones, a sense of home during the course of a long season. It is something that has proven to be a very rewarding experience for both players and host families.

During the summer, you get an inside look at Minor League Baseball and have an incredible chance to help a young man follow his dream to make it to the big leagues. Players are very appreciative of the willingness of host families to open their homes and, in a way, adopt them into their families. Most players and host families form bonds with each other that last well beyond the end of the season.

Certainly it is a commitment to open your home for an entire season. It is the Suns goal to match prospective host families with a player or players who will fit in well with the household. Host families are more than welcome to set certain parameters regarding the living environment, rules and certain expectations that must be met. After all, it is still your home.
