HAGERSTOWN, M.D. - The Hagerstown Suns (10-9) got off to a slow start in their second home stand of the season, falling to the Augusta GreenJackets (12-6) on Tuesday night, 3-1. The loss comes despite the Suns out-hitting the GreenJackets 8-6.

Hagerstown put up its only run in the bottom of the fourth on a solo homerun from DH Wander Ramos to begin the inning. It was Ramos' third homerun of the season, and second in as many games. The hit also extended Ramos' current hitting streak to seven games, matching Brandon Miller for the longest hitting streak by a Suns player this season.

Augusta put up its first two runs in the fifth. Second Baseman Trevor Brown and RF Charles Jones hit back-to-back singles to begin the frame. Following a pop out to short and a fly out to right, CF Jesus Galindo smacked a single to left to drive in Brown from second and make it a 1-1 game. Shortstop Matthew Duffy then sent a ground ball single to left, driving home Jones from second and making it 2-1 in favor of the GreenJackets.

Augusta put up its final run in the seventh without recording a hit. Jones was walked to begin the innings, and then RHP David Fischer hit GreenJackets catcher Eric Sim with a pitch to put two on with no outs. Three batters later, Fischer hit Duffy with a pitch to load the bases with two outs, and then he walked DH Shayne Houck to force in a run.

That's all the offense the GreenJackets would need, with three relievers combining to hold the Suns scoreless over the final 2.2 innings. Starting RHP Martin Agosta (3-1) got the win for Augusta, throwing 6.1 innings, and allowing just one earned run on five hits while striking out nine without walking a batter. RHP Tyler Mizenko collected his sixth save of the season by pitching the final 0.2 innings for the GreenJackets. Starting RHP Ivan Pineyro (0-2) drew the loss for Hagerstown. He went five innings, surrendering two earned runs on six hits, walking two and striking out one.

The Suns and GreenJackets will be back at it on Wednesday April 23 to play game two of the three game series. Hagerstown will send RHP Ronald Pena (0-2) to the mound for his fourth start of the season. He will square off against RHP Joan Gregorio (2-0) for the GreenJackets. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35pm.
