HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The Hagerstown Suns, Class A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, are partnering with Potomac Edison to light up the skies above Hagerstown with a postgame fireworks spectacular at Municipal Stadium on Friday, August 18, immediately following the Suns game against the division-rival Kannapolis Intimidators.
"Our fireworks displays always draw big crowds to Municipal Stadium, and now with the support of Potomac Edison, we're planning our best show yet," said Suns general manager Travis Painter. "We appreciate this community-based initiative by Potomac Edison and we look forward to providing the people of Hagerstown with a show in the skies to remember."
Potomac Edison, a FirstEnergy Company, serves 257,000 electric utility customers in seven Maryland counties and 137,000 customers in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. Follow Potomac Edison on Twitter @PotomacEdison.
The Suns currently lead the South Atlantic League Northern Division second-half standings with a 25-19 record. Historic Municipal Stadium will host 18 more regular season home games in 2017 as the Suns pursue a fifth division title in the last six years. On Thursday at 7:05 p.m., the Suns will open a four-game homestand against the West Virginia Power, Class A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
