Hagerstown, MD - The Hagerstown Suns, class-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, are proud to announce the release of their 2018 promotional schedule. This season's events include four bobblehead giveaways, five firework nights, and a slew of other celebrations taking place over the 70-game schedule at Hagerstown Municipal Stadium.
The 2018 home schedule kicks off with the Suns home opener on April 12 with a 6:05 p.m. first pitch. Fans will receive magnetic 2018 schedules at the gate upon entering the ballpark and Opening Day is also a Thirsty Thursday. Magnetic schedules will be available for fans who attend April 13 and 14 during opening weekend as well, while supplies last.
Four bobblehead giveaways are set for the 2018 season for the first 1,000 fans in attendance of each game. On June 23 with the Grasshoppers are back in town, the first 1,000 fans will receive a bobblehead of former Suns star Victor Robles during Pink Weekend while the Suns raise awareness for Breast Cancer and raise money for the BCA of Cumberland Valley. On August 4 fans will receive a Jim Palmer Bobblehead, commemorating the 35th anniversary of the hall of famer taking the mound in Hagerstown. August 18 is a Billy Ripken Bobblehead for the first 1,000 fans, and on September 1 there will be a Mystery Bobblehead giveaway presented by Hagerstown/Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Harry Potter Night is on May 26 and one lucky family will win a trip to Universal Studios in Orlando, FL valued at $1,750. June 15 is Disney Night presented by AAA of Hagerstown where the Suns will send one family on a trip to Walt Disney World valued at $3,750. One night later, on June 16, the Suns will celebrate Star Wars Night with some of the characters from the iconic franchise in attendance.
The Suns have five firework nights planned this summer, with the first happening after the May 25 game against the Grasshoppers. The second display of the season will happen when Greensboro is in town on June 22 during Pink Weekend. The Suns will celebrate Independence Day on July 3 with the season's largest firework display while the team will offer the All-American BBQ package. The ticket option includes all-you-can-eat hamburgers, hot dogs, sides, and drinks in the picnic area from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. starting at $17, must be purchased in advance. July 20 is Margaritaville Night and will finish with a firework display, while the last show of the season will be on August 17 presented by Miss Utility.
Weekly promotions for the 2018 season include Sunday Funday, where Kids Club Members can play catch on the field before the game and all kids can run the bases following the game. There are 11 Thirsty Thursdays this season, and fans in attendance can take advantage of beer specials starting at $2. Finally, Antietam Brewery Tuesdays are back for the first time since 2016 with $3 16 oz Antietam Brewery Drafts.
