Kannapolis, NC (August 26, 2019) - Reid Schaller kept the pitching staff rolling in Hagerstown's 4-1 over Kannapolis at Intimidator Stadium Monday evening.
Schaller (W, 4-3) spun the first five frames of Hagerstown's (62-71, 32-31) win, wringing up half a dozen batters while surrendering just two hits.

The offense woke up in the fourth inning via some help from Israel Pineda's seventh homer of the season, a solo shot that charged over the left field wall to put the Suns in front 1-0.
After leading off the sixth with a base knock, Justin Connell came around on a Kyle Marinconz dribbler to second to give the Suns some insurance and a 2-0 lead.
In the ninth, Armond Upshaw put the icing on the cake, tripling to score Phil Caulfield prior to coming home on a throwing error from second baseman Amado Nunez.
Matt Cronin was the first arm out of the pen for the Suns. The lefty fanned four Kannapolis (59-72, 31-32) batters in two innings before passing the ball to Nick Wells (S, 1).
The loss was charged to Intimidator's starter Jason Bilous (L, 6-9) who gave up two runs through 5.1 innings.
Wells kept the Suns stretch hot, working two innings, allowing just one run to finish off the Intimidators lineup. In Hagerstown's last five games, they've allowed just two earned run across 42 innings while allowing 14 hits and nine walks (0.55 WHIP).
Hagerstown has yet to announce their starter for tomorrow, but Kannapolis opts to toss RHP Johan Dominguez  (4-5, 3.05 ERA).
The Suns close out their season with a four-game set against the Lakewood BlueClaws Friday-Monday. The homestand will have two special jersey auctions, the final fireworks show of the year and a Paul "Ears" McNeal bobblehead giveaway.
