Jupiter, FL (July 2, 2017)- James Needy tossed the longest outing for any Hammerhead pitcher of 2017, going seven innings while striking out six batters in a 1-0 win over Lakeland on Sunday.

It was Needy's third start since joining the Hammerheads in mid-June, and his best outing on the season.

Felipe Gonzalez pitched two innings out of the bullpen, striking out four while picking up his first save.

The Hammerheads scored the lone run in the fifth, when Gunner Pollman singled home Stone Garrett. Garrett reached base earlier in the inning on an error.

It's Mega Bash tomorrow at Roger Dean Stadium. It'll be one big Independence Day Party that'll include post game fireworks.

The Hammerheads will send LHP James Buckelew (0-1, 1.38 ERA) to the mound. He'll be opposed by LHP Matt Hall (6-5, 3.08 ERA).
