Dan Straily took the mound for his second start in a Hammerheads uniform, first at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium. The Flying Tigers jumped on Straily out of the gates, with three first inning hits and one run to take the early 1-0 lead.
The Hammerheads would strike quickly with a Riley Mahan sacrifice fly, scoring Brian Miller to tie the game, 1-1. Later in the inning, John Silviano hit a routine ground ball to the shortstop, but an overthrow to first sent Joe Dunand home, giving Jupiter the 2-1 lead.

Straily would bounce back and pitch four scoreless innings. He worked the strike zone and got ahead in counts early; proof of his 52 strikes on 68 pitches. He finished with 5 IP. 5 K. 6 H. 1 R.
After a quiet four innings, the Hammerheads bats bounced back in the 6th inning. Stone Garrett started it off with a single and a stolen base (5). John Silviano then ripped an RBI (15) double to right-center field, making it 3-1 Jupiter. Next batter, Jarett Rindfleisch singled up the middle to plate Garrett, extending the lead to 4-1.
In the 7th, Lakeland threatened with the bases loaded and only one out, but the Flying Tigers only managed to score one run, cutting the lead to 4-2.
Corey Bird led off the 8th with a single (3 for 4). After Bird stole second, Joe Dunand would send a high flying ball to center and over the head of the outfielder for an RBI (16) ground rule double to put Jupiter ahead, 5-2.
Garrett added an insurance run with an RBI (12) single to right-field, scoring Dunand to make it a 6-2 lead.
That would all be Jupiter would need, as Parker Bugg and Kyle Keller allowed zero hits in the final two frames.
Joe Dunand extended his hitting streak to 16 games, dating back to the 2017 season.
Riley Mahan's 10 game hitting streak would come to an end.
The Hammerheads look for a series sweep Thursday night (4/19). First pitch set for 6:30pm.
