Jupiter, FL (June 29, 2017) - Ben Meyer threw six shutout innings, giving up 1 hit while striking out seven batters in the Hammerheads 3-1 loss Thursday afternoon.

Meyer made his second start of the season, picking up a no-decision.

Jupiter struck early, scoring in the first when Dustin Geiger doubled home John Silviano, but the Hammerheads couldn't manage to put up another run.

The Fire Frogs bats were silent all day against Meyer, but finally woke up in the 7th against reliever Evan Beal.

Braxton Davidson's two-run triple capped a three-run inning and gave the Fire Frogs a 3-1 lead after Ray-Patrick Didder scored on a fielder's choice earlier in the inning off Beal.

The Hammerheads will return to action tomorrow, welcoming the Lakeland Flying Tigers to Roger Dean Stadium. RHP Jeff Brigham (2-1, 2.48 ERA) will start for the Hammerheads. He'll be opposed by LHP Josh Turley (1-0, 1.98 ERA.)
