Jupiter, FL (July 17, 2017)- The Hammerheads (46-46, 13-11) scored the only run of the game two batters into the first inning, but it was all the run support they would need in a 1-0 victory over the Stone Crabs (42-48, 11-11) Monday night.

Mason Davis led off the bottom of the first with a triple down the right field line, and later scored when next batter Miguel Rojas singled to center.

The Hammerheads had a chance to add some insurance runs in the seventh, when they put runners on the corners with nobody out, but couldn't capitalize.

Scott Squier (3-6, 3.71 ERA) had his best outing of the season tossing a gem. The left-hander fired 8 innings, holding Charlotte scoreless on three hits and struck out five, while only throwing 78 pitches.

Felipe Gonzalez worked a perfect ninth, picking up his fourth save on the season.

The Hammerheads return to action tomorrow as they'll travel north to face the Mets in St. Lucie. LHP James Buckelew (1-2, 1.72 ERA) will get the start for Jupiter. He'll be opposed by RHP Joe Shaw (5-5, 5.57 ERA).
