Friday night in Portland the Senators swept a twin-bill from Portland winning game one 7-2 and rallying for an 3-1 win in extra innings in game two. Ronald Herrera was the story in game one, pitching the Senators first complete game in nearly three years and leading the Sens to the win. The Senators completed the doubleheader sweep by scoring a pair of runs in the eighth inning.

Ronald Herrera threw seven innings, a complete game, in game one earning the win. He struck out five and didn’t walk a batter. In game two, Steven Fuentes started and went five strong frames. Dakody Clemmer pitched two scoreless and earned the win. Matt Brill retired all three batters he faced in the eighth inning to earn his ninth save in game two.

Mitch Longo homered and singled driving in three runs in game one. Dondrei Hubbard also had two hits including a triple. He also drove in a run and scored twice. Jackson Cluff had a monster game two, homering to tie the game in the fifth inning and singling leading off the eighth inning. Jecksson Flores had two hits including a safety squeeze single with an RBI in the eighth inning.

The Senators didn’t commit an error for the eleventh time in 12 games. With the sweep, the Sens evened the season series with Portland at 5-5 and evened their season record at 18-18.
