Senators fall short Saturday night in 7-4 loss to Richmond

The Harrisburg Senators rallied from an early deficit to take a lead but couldn’t hold it late in a 7-4 loss to Richmond Saturday night at The Diamond. Harrisburg tallied three runs in the sixth inning but Richmond scored a pair of runs in both the seventh and eighth innings.

ON CAPITAL HILL

Tim Cate started and went the first five innings. He allowed seven hits and three runs while striking out five. Cate threw 93 pitches, 56 strikes, in his five innings.

Bryan Dobzanski went 1.1 innings allowing two runs, one unearned, and took the loss.

Jhon Romero went two-thirds of an inning allowing just a single hit.

Frankie Bartow pitched the eighth and allowed a two-run home run.

WITH THE GAVEL

KJ Harrison had two hits including a double and scored two runs.

Nick Banks had two hits including a double and scored a run.

Osvaldo Duarte also had two hits in the ballgame.

FILIBUSTERS

Four of the five walks issued by the Senators scored for Richmond. Harrisburg stranded 11 baserunners including six in scoring position. There were 7,087 in attendance at The Diamond Saturday night, the largest crowd the Sens have played in front of this season.
