Freeman and Banks with four hits each in Sens 8-7 win at Altoona

The Harrisburg Senators beat the Altoona Curve 8-7 Sunday night for their third straight win. The Senators took a 5-1 lead into the bottom of the sixth, but Altoona eventually tied the game at six in the bottom of the eighth. The Sens scored twice in the ninth only to have Altoona score a run in the last of the ninth and put the tying run on second with one out, but the Sens held on for the win.

ON CAPITAL HILL

Mario Sanchez came off the Injured List to start the game. He went two innings, faced eight batters and struck out four.

Andrew Lee followed, throwing three solid innings and allowing one run on one hit.

Reid Schaller pitched one inning and allowed two runs, two hits and he walked two.

Jhon Romero faced four batters in one inning of work and earned his fourth hold.

Pearson McMahan went two-thirds of an inning and allowed three runs on three hits, he walked one and struck out two.

Bryan Dobzanski earned his first win with the Senators, going two-thirds of an inning and allowing a run on a hit with a walk and a strikeout.

Carson Teel earned his first save of the season and his second career save going two-thirds of an inning and striking out one and inducing a fly ball to end the game.

WITH THE GAVEL

Cole Freeman had four hits, including two doubles, drove in three and scored twice to raise his season batting average to .277.

Nick Banks also had four hits, drove in a run and scored a run and raised his season batting average to .231.

Jackson Cluff had two hits, one a double, and scored a run.

FILIBUSTERS

With the win, the Senators split the season series with Altoona 9-9. Harrisburg matched their season high in hits with 13. With the 13 hits, the Senators team batting average sits at .226. It was the first time this year that two Senators batters had four hits in one game.
