The Senators lost 6-5 to the Erie SeaWolves in game one of their six game series Tuesday night in Erie at UPMC Park. Erie tallied a run in the last of the ninth inning to walk off the Sens. It was the eighth walk off loss for Harrisburg this year. The Sens lost leads of 2-0 and 5-4.

ON CAPITAL HILL

Tim Cate started and went 4.1 innings, allowing three earned runs on eight hits. He threw three scoreless frames before allowing a home run in the fourth and three runs, two earned in the fifth.

Ryan Tapani came on with one in the fifth and pitched 1.2 scoreless frames allowing just a hit while striking out two.

Jhon Romero took the loss, allowing a solo home run in the seventh and then the winning run in the ninth after a one-out walk.

Carson Teel faced one batter in the ninth and allowed a double, scoring the winning run.

WITH THE GAVEL

KJ Harrison had two hits, one a double, drove in two runs and scored a run.

Gilbert Lara had two hits for the Sens.

Jacob Rhinesmith had a run scoring double in the sixth inning to bring the Sens to within one run.

FILIBUSTERS

It was the third straight game the Senators struck out at least 12 times. The balk called on Tim Cate in the fifth inning was the first balk called on the Senators this season.
