Lara homers in Sens 9-6 win over Erie

SUMMARY The Senators scored six runs in their final three at bats to beat Erie 9-6 Friday night at UPMC Park in Erie. The Senators snapped their four-game losing streak with the win. Harrisburg broke a 3-3 tie with a two-run home run by Gilbert Lara in the seventh inning.

Harrisburg broke a 3-3 tie with a two-run home run by Gilbert Lara in the seventh inning. They tacked on two more in the eighth and two in the ninth.

ON CAPITAL HILL

Steven Fuentes pitched five solid innings in a rehab start. He faced 23 batters, striking out seven and allowing three ruins on seven hits. He threw 70 pitches, 52 for strikes.

Mario Sanchez finished up going the final four frames for the win. He allowed three runs on six hits while striking out four. Mario improved to 4-7 with the win.

WITH THE GAVEL

Rhett Wiseman had four hits, drove in a run, and scored a run in the win.

Jacob Rhinesmith had two hits, both doubles, drove in a run and scored once.

Jakson Reetz had a two-run single.

Gilbert Lara hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning.

Armond Upshaw went 1-for-1, walked three times, stole a base, and scored a run.

FILIBUSTERS

The Senators had two outfield assists with both figuring greatly in the outcome. Sanchez and Fuentes combined to strike out eleven and walk just one. Harrisburg did not commit an error in the game.
