Senators Offense Erupts in 11-0 Win over New Hampshire

The Harrisburg Senators broke out the bats Thursday night in their 11-0 win over New Hampshire at Delta Dental Stadium. The Sens scored two runs in the fifth, four in the sixth to break the game open and give the Senators a 7-0 lead. The offense pounded out 12 hits

The Harrisburg Senators broke out the bats Thursday night in their 11-0 win over New Hampshire at Delta Dental Stadium. The Sens scored two runs in the fifth, four in the sixth to break the game open and give the Senators a 7-0 lead. The offense pounded out 12 hits and the Sens walked seven times. New Hampshire’s defense helped as well committing three errors in the game. The shutout was the fourth for the Sens this season.

Ronald Herrera started and was outstanding Thursday. He pitched six scoreless innings allowing just three hits while striking out six and walking two. It was his ninth quality start for the Senators this season. Ike Schlabach made his 2022 Senators debut tossing a scoreless seventh inning. Reid Schaller pitched a scoreless eighth inning. Zach Brzykcy finished the game with a perfect ninth inning.

Four different batters for the Senators had two hits. Robert Hassell III had two hits and drove in three runs. Wilson Garcia continued his torrid series with two hits and two RBIs. Garcia has six hits in the series with seven RBIs. Jackson Cluff had two doubles, drove in a run, and scored once. Cole Daily drove in two with a triple, singled, and scored twice. Every Senator hitter had a hit in the game except for Darren Baker.

Harrisburg went 5-for-17 with runners in scoring position. The five hits equal their total from the previous six games combined. Harrisburg had scored just ten total runs in their past six games. Harrisburg last scored at least nine runs in a game when they scored nine against Erie on August 24.
