July 7, 2018

The Bowie Baysox won a walk-off over the Harrisburg Senators 3-2 Saturday night at Prince George's Stadium. The Senators led 2-0 through six and a half innings but the Baysox scored the final three runs of the game as they evened the four-game series.

The Bowie Baysox won a walk-off over the Harrisburg Senators 3-2 Saturday night at Prince George's Stadium. The Senators led 2-0 through six and a half innings but the Baysox scored the final three runs of the game as they evened the four-game series.

The Senators struck first with a run in the third. After Alec Keller was hit by a pitch and Hunter Jones singled, Matt Wieters knocked an RBI ground rule double over the right-field fence to put the Senators on top 1-0.
The team added another run in the seventh. With two-runners on base, Osvaldo Abreu hit into a fielder's choice and shortstop Erick Salcedo threw the ball past first baseman Aderlin Rodriguez in attempt to turn a double play, which allowed a run to score.
After a leadoff triple in the first by Ryan McKenna, Senators starting pitcher Kyle McGowin retired 18 consecutive Baysox batters and faced just one over the minimum through six innings. However, the right-hander surrendered three straight hits to lead off the seventh including an RBI double by Corban Joseph and RBI single by Ryan Mountcastle which tied the game at 2-2.
McGowin limited Bowie to just the two runs on four hits while striking out five and without walking a batter over seven and two-thirds innings. Bowie starter Reid Love allowed a run on three hits across four innings.
The game remained tied into extra innings. After the Senators failed to score in the top of the 10th, the Baysox capitalized in the bottom of the frame. With the free-runner, D'Arby Myers, at third and Anderson Feliz at first on a bunt single, Martin Cervenka hit a walk-off sacrifice fly to right to send the Baysox to the 3-2 win.
Branden Kline (3-2) picked up the win after throwing one and a third shutout innings of relief. Derek Self (2-2) suffered the loss after allowing the game-winning run, which was unearned, in one and a third frames.
Jake Noll finished 2-4 and was the only Senator with multiple hits. He's recorded multiple hits in three consecutive games. Carter Kieboom had his 11-game hitting streak snapped after finishing 0-5. Matt Wieters went 1-4 with a double and RBI in his first game with the Senators on rehab.
The two teams play their final game before the Eastern League All-Star Break on Sunday afternoon. Tyler Mapes starts for the Senators opposite Bowie starter Luis Ysla. First pitch is scheduled for 1:35 p.m. at Prince George's Stadium. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Harrisburg 96.5 & 95.3 FM and 1400 AM or at www.cbssportsharrisburg.com beginning at 1:20 p.m.
