Senators Searching for PA Announcer & On-Field Host

Harrisburg, PA- The Harrisburg Senators Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League Affiliate of the Washington Nationals, announced that it is searching for an on-field host who will become the promotional face of the Senators during all home games at FNB Field. The energetic on-field host will be highly visible at the ballpark, engaging fans in the seats before, during and after the games. The Senators are also searching for a public address announcer to become the stadium voice of the Senators.

The public address announcer will be selected through an interview process and audition. The Senators will play 70 home games at FNB Field in Harrisburg from April 13th through August 30th.  
On-Field Host
The Harrisburg Senators are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate individual to be the voice and face of the franchise as the on-field host for the 2018 season. The on-field host will work as a seasonal part-time employee and assist in all aspects of Senators promotions. The individual will be an integral part of the in-game entertainment experience at FNB Field and must show creativity and initiative in coming up with daily crowd interaction, engagement, entertainment and promotions. 
Requirements

  • Strong vocal talent  
  • Able to speak in front of large crowds  
  • Willing to dress up or participate for theme nights  
  • Execute in-game promotions and events including but not limited to: pregame and postgame promotions, and on-field contests  
  • Encourage excitement among fans (including dancing, chanting, etc.)  
  • Bring a creative mind to the role in order to keep Senators entertainment exciting  
  • Show creativity and initiative in coming up with daily crowd interaction, engagement, entertainment and promotions   
  • Receptive to both positive and negative feedback  
  • Ability to be spontaneous and react quickly as appropriate   
  • Assist with game day setup and breakdown

Public Address announcer
Those interested in the Senators public address announcer position are asked to submit a demo reel and their resume to Scott Ciaccia.
Requirements
  • Strong vocal talent  
  • A unique and definitive personality  
  • Strong knowledge of baseball rules and positions   
  • Ability to multitask in a stressful environment  
  • Comfortable announcing to large crowds on a microphone   
  • Comfortable announcing complex names from a variety of ethnic backgrounds   
  • Able to attend all home Senators games and arrive at least one hour and fifteen minutes before scheduled game time  
  • Receptive to both positive and negative feedback  
  • Ability to be spontaneous and react quickly as appropriate  
  • Experience working as a PA announcer in sports, television or radio is preferred

The Senators offices are open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily during the offseason. The 2018 home opener is Friday, April 13th against the Bowie Baysox.
