The Harrisburg Senators split a doubleheader with the Richmond Flying Squirrels Saturday night at the Diamond. The Senators were shutout 3-0 in game one, however they took game two 3-2 in extra innings.

Dylan Davis put Richmond in front in game one with an RBI single in the first to score Luigi Rodriguez.
Miguel Gómez made it 2-0 Richmond with a lead-off home run to start the third. Richmond tallied their final run later in the frame on a run-scoring single by Jonah Arenado to expand the lead to 3-0. That would be the final score as three Richmond pitchers combined to hand the Senators their eighth shutout loss.
Senators starter Jaron Long (1-3) worked a complete game, allowing three runs on 10 hits and striking out three and walking none across all six innings. Jake McCasland (1-1, 3.77) tossed five shutout and three hit innings to earn the win. Caleb Simpson retired the final batter of the game to notch his 10th save.
Neither team scored in game two over the first seven innings until the Senators jumped in front in extras. With Zach Collier, the free-runner to start the eighth, at third after a sacrifice bunt, Austin Davidson drove him home with an RBI single to put the Senators ahead 1-0. One batter later, Taylor Gushue ripped an RBI double to right to plate Davidson. Adam Brett Walker finished the scoring in the frame with a run-scoring single to left to give the Senators a 3-0 lead.
Richmond cut the lead to one with two runs in the bottom of the frame on a pair of RBI singles from Luigi Rodriguez and Ryan Howard. With the tying run on first, the next batter, Jerry Sands, drove a ball deep to center that Hunter Jones tracked down with a leaping catch at the wall to end the ball game and seal with 3-2 win.
Neither starter factored in the decision. Jefry Rodriguez limited Richmond to one hit and one walk while striking out six across five shutout innings. The right-hander has allowed just two hits and two runs over his past 11 innings pitched. Shaun Anderson went six shutout and four hit innings.
Roman Mendez (3-2) picked up the win after allowing two runs, one earned, over the final two innings. Dillon McNamara (1-2) took the loss after allowing the go-ahead two runs in two innings of relief.
Stephen Perez and Gushue each finished with a pair of hits in the win.
The Senators and Flying Squirrels finish their series Sunday afternoon. Brady Dragmire starts for the Senators opposite Richmond starter Jordan Johnson. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. at the Diamond. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Harrisburg 96.5 & 95.3 FM and 1400 AM or at www.cbssportsharrisburg.com beginning at 12:50 p.m.
