Hartford, CT- The Hartford Yard Goats scored four runs in the 10th inning to beat the Bowie Baysox by the score of 8-7 on Saturday evening at Dunkin’ Donuts Park in Hartford. Manny Melendez ripped a two-run double, scoring Coco Montes and Taylor Snyder as the Yard Goats ended Bowie’s eight-game win streak. Hartford blasted three homers as Taylor Snyder, Manny Melendez and Elehuris Montero each hit long balls.

The Yard Goats scored the first run of the game in the second inning on a Taylor Snyder home run off Baysox starter DL Hall. The Baysox took a 3-1 lead with three runs on four singles in the fourth inning. Hartford starter Frank Duncan pitched well and allowed just three runs in six innings of work.

Trailing 3-1 in the sixth inning, the Yard Goats tied the game with a couple of extra base hits. Jameson Hannah started the inning with a double and Montero followed by cranking a two-run homer down the left field line, tying the game at 3-3. Hartford took a 4-3 lead on Manny Melendez’ pinch hit homer in the seventh inning off reliever David Lebron.

Bowie tied the game on Adley Rutschmann’s solo homer in the eighth inning off reliever Yoan Aybar. Neither team scored in the ninth inning and Hartford was sent to its second extra inning game.

The tenth inning was exciting. The Baysox took a 7-4 lead with three singles, a double and a bases loaded walk. However, the Yard Goats responded in the bottom of the inning. Montero’s RBI double scored Mylz Jones to make it 7-5. Sean Bouchard followed with a single and then Coco Montes cracked a line drive single bringing in Montero to make it 7-6. Later in the inning, Manny Melendez cracked a double down the right field line, scoring Montes and Snyder for the 8-7 win.
