Manchester, NH- The Hartford Yard Goats swept a doubleheader against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Wednesday night at Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester, New Hampshire. Hartford won the suspended game from last night 6-3 and took the nightcap in extra innings, winning 8-7. In the opener, Hartford broke a 1-1 tie and built a three run fifth inning with four straight hits. First baseman Elehuris Montero cracked an RBI single to score Taylor Snyder for the 8-7 win in the second game. The 18 innings are the single most played by the Yard Goats in a day this season. The Yard Goats return home to Dunkin’ Donuts Park next Tuesday, June 22 and host the Richmond Flying Squirrels.

The Yard Goats scored three times with two outs in the fifth inning off Troy Miller in the suspended game from Tuesday. Matt McLaughlin gave the Yard Goats a 2-1 lead with a run-scoring single and Sean Bouchard followed with an RBI double and Taylor Snyder capped the rally with a 2RBI single, while extending his hitting streak to 11 games.

In game two, the Yard Goats scored four runs in the first inning off New Hampshire starter Curtis Taylor. Snyder extended his hit-streak to 12 games with an RBI double and later in the frame Willie Abreu cranked a three-run homer.

The Fisher Cats tied the game in the second inning on Samad Taylor’s two-run homer. The Fisher Cats took a 5-4 lead with a run in the third and added two more runs on Taylors second homer in the fourth.

Trailing 7-4 in the sixth inning, the Yard Goats tied the game with RBI hits by Manny Melendez, LJ Hatch and a wild pitch. Montero put the Yard Goats in front with a sharp single to center field in the ninth, scoring Snyder.

The Yard Goats will continue their 12-game road trip on Thursday in New Hampshire (6:35 PM) against the Fisher Cats (Blue Jays affiliate). The game will be broadcast on AM 1410 WPOP and FM 100.9 FM and newsradio1410.iheart.com. The Yard Goats return to Dunkin’ Donuts Park on June 22 to host the Richmond Flying Squirrels at 7:05PM.
