Hartford, CT- Infielders Taylor Snyder and Coco Montes each hit home runs leading the Yard Goats to a 5-2 victory against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Thursday night at Dunkin’ Donuts Park in Hartford. Snyder cranked his league leading 17th homer into the left field seats tying the game in the fourth inning and Montes followed with the go-ahead three-run shot in the fifth. Hartford starter Matt Dennis and three relievers limited the Fisher Cats to just two runs on seven hits and recorded 15 strikeouts.

The Fisher Cats took the early lead with a pair of runs in the second inning off Hartford starter Matt Dennis. Outfielder Reggie Pruitt ripped a two-out two-RBI double, scoring LJ Talley and Kevin Vincuna, giving the Fisher Cats a 5-2 lead.

Fisher Cats starter Simeon Woods Richardson began the game by retiring nine of the first ten batters with six strikeouts over the first three innings. Sean Bouchard led off the fourth inning with a walk and Taylor Snyder followed with a rocket two-run homer, the Yard Goats first hit, tying the game at 2-2.

The Yard Goats took a 5-2 lead in the fifth inning on a three-run homer by Coco Montes. Jose Gomez started the inning with a single, stole second base, and Taylor Snyder reached on a two out walk. Coco Montes followed with a three-run homer into the centerfield seats and gave the Yard Goats a 5-2 lead.

Matt Dennis pitched the first four innings and allowed a pair of runs on four hits and had six strikeouts. Will Gaddis pitched the next two innings and did not allow a run, while earning his second win. Brian Gonzalez worked the seventh and eighth and did not allow a run. Reagan Todd fired a perfect ninth with two strikeouts to record his fourth save of the year.

The Yard Goats continue their six-game homestand against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at Dunkin’ Donuts Park on Friday night (7:05 PM).
