Zach Collier Saves Night for Senators
Harrisburg, PA- Senators right fielder Zach Collier robbed Yard Goats slugger Forrest Wall of a game tying home run with two outs in the ninth inning as Harrisburg defeated Hartford 4-3 at FNB Field in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It was the first game back after a three day break for the All-Star Game. Collier reached over the fence and brought the ball back with his amazing defensive play preventing Wall of his second homer of the game. Logan Darnell turned in a quality start and Osvaldo Abreu homered and had 3 RBI as the Senators improved to 47-43. Wall had two hits, including a 2-run homer and double and the Yard Goats bullpen hurled four scoreless innings and allowed just two hits in the loss.
The Yard Goats scored the first two runs of the game on a two-run homer by Forrest Wall in the second inning off Harrisburg starter LHP Logan Darnell. However, the Senators responded with a rally in the bottom of the inning. Jake Noll and Alec Keller had back-to-back doubles to make it 2-1. Then Osvaldo Abreu cracked a two-run home run to give the Senators a 3-2 lead after two innings.
Harrisburg added a run in the fourth inning off Hartford starter Frank Duncan. Alec Keller began the frame with a double and later scored on a one-out single by Osvaldo Abreu, making it a 4-2 game.
The Yard Goats made it a one-run game in the fifth inning. Forrest Wall led off with a double, moved to third base on a wild pitch and scored on an infield grounder by pinch hitter Brandon Bednar.
The Yard Goats continue the four game series against the Senators on Friday night (7:00 PM). LHP Evan Grills will start for the Yard Goats while RHP Jaron Long will start for Harrisburg. The game will be broadcast on AM 1410 WPOP and streamed on newsradio.1410.com and MiLB.com. The Yard Goats will return to Dunkin' Donuts Park for their next homestand on Monday vs Reading at 7:05 PM.
