Spokane, WA: There will be an extremely important rubber match on Monday to determine the series winner of the Boise Hawks and Spokane Indians after they split a doubleheader on Father's Day Sunday afternoon by scores of 3-1 (W) and 10-0 (L.)

Boise got out of the gates quickly in game one while scoring three runs in the 2nd inning on their way to a victory. Bobby Wernes homered to start the inning off starter Alex Speas. Then, they added two more and that was all they needed to take home the victory in game one.

The Hawks only needed two pitchers in game one to finish the deal. Breiling Eusebio tossed five innings of one run ball while only giving up four hits and striking out seven. He was relieved by Juan Pena who threw two scoreless innings for Boise. Eusebio and Pena combined for 10 strikeouts in the game.

Speas took the loss the Spokane after he only made it through 1.2 innings in the game. The Indians used three relievers in the game after Speas was pulled. There were no runs scored in the game passed the 2nd inning.

Game two was a different story.

Spokane wasted no time to get the bats swinging after struggling through much of game one as they roughed up Boise starter Luis Guzman. Guzman did not have his normal stuff in the game as he allowed seven runs in the first inning off of 5 hits and two walks.

Guzman only pitched in the 1st inning. Relievers Austin Moore and Cristian Quintin took the reigns the rest of the game. Moore tossed two consecutive one-two-three innings and then ran into trouble in his 3rd inning of work where he gave up 2 runs on three hits. Quintin was strong through two innings of work while only giving up one run.

Spokane pitcher Reiver Sanmartin picked up his first win of the season pitching in the game while throwing five scoreless innings and striking out six Hawks batters. Reliever Jacob Rogers came on for the final two innings and struck out every batter he faced in both innings. Guzman took the loss in game two.

The Hawks will take on Spokane again tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. PT in the rubber match at Avista Stadium
