Boise, ID: In the final game at Memorial Stadium in the 2016 season, the Boise Hawks would put on a show against the Everett AquaSox. Garrett Hampson would lead the charge to take down the visitors 2-1.
Miami product Danny Garcia took the hill for the AquaSox who had it easy for the first two batters of the game, but Hampson strolled up. Hampson would smack one high and deep to left field and it sailed over the fence for his first career home run to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead.
Not much offense occurred on Friday night. Everett came across with their only run of the game on a bases loaded walk to David Greer. Yojhan Quevedo would touch home to tie the game in the fifth.
Hampson came to the plate once again in the bottom of the sixth to lead things off. With Garcia on the mound still, the Hawks designated hitter would do the exact same thing as his first at bat. Once more, the ball left the yard and Boise regained the lead with Hampson's second home run of the game and season.
After Alec Kenilvort dazzled out of the pen through 3.1 innings until the Hawks called upon Justin Lawrence. Two hits and a balk put the go ahead run at second in the top of the ninth, but Bryson Brigman hit a soft ground to Antony Brito who got Brigman out at first to end the game. Boise had won their final home game of the year.
The Hawks head on the road to finish up the season as they take on the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes. All the action can be heard on BoiseHawks.com.
