After jumping out to a 7-0 lead, the Helena Brewers (17-28, 2-5) saw the Orem Owlz (33-12-1, 7-1) storm back for a 13-9 win over the Brewers at the Home of the Owlz on Tuesday night.

Helena came out of the gate hot sending 11 men to the plate in the top of the first inning. Kenny Corey singled, Tristen Lutz walked and KJ Harrison double in a run, giving Helena a 1-0 lead in the first three batters. Following a Payton Henry strikeout, Gabriel Garcia dribbled a ball up the first base line, bringing in Lutz from third on a fielder's choice. Chad McClanahan and Franly Mallen both singled in runs, chasing Orem starter Mayky Perez. Jose Gomez greeted David Perez with a two RBI double, making it 6-0. Nick Roscetti singled and Gomez came in to score on a base knock by Corey, his second single of the inning. Lutz would single before Harrison flew out, ending the Brewers inning with a 7-0 lead.

The Owlz started the comeback in the bottom of the first. Brewers starter Karsen Lindell loaded the bases in the first three batters and hit David Mackinnon with a pitch, forcing in a run. The right-hander let loose a wild pitch, bringing in another run to cut the lead to 7-2.

Orem tagged on two more against Lindell in the second on a two RBI single by Ryan Vega, creeping closer at 7-4.

Outfielder Tristen Lutz did his part to push the Brewers to the finish line, launching an opposite field home run in the third inning, his second of the season, extending Helena's lead back to 8-4.

Lindell started the bottom of the third, but was taken out after Orem singled, walked and doubled, bringing in another run. Angel Molina knocked a single against reliever Robbie Hitt, cutting the Brewers lead to just one run at 8-7.

Orem tied the game in the fourth with an RBI double by Mackinnon. They went ahead by scoring five runs in the fifth, including a three-run homer by Kevin Williams Jr., his first in the Pioneer League, making it 13-8.

Tristen Lutz provided another bright spot in the sixth, destroying a 440 foot home run over the left field wall, his second of the game, to cut it to 13-9. His two home runs were the only two hits the Brewers managed after the second inning. Lutz finished 3-for-4 with two home runs, two RBI, a walk and three runs scored.

Helena concludes their series with Orem on Wednesday night at 7:05 PM. Helena sends RHP Jayson Rose (1-3, 5.53) to the mound against Owlz RHP Edrick Agosto (0-1, 6.75). The game can be heard on KCAP 95.9 FM/AM 950, the MiLB First Pitch App and helenabrewers.net.
